Japan-Thailand Economic Cooperation Society was established on July 1972 was formed in respond to Japanese government’s idea as a mechanism to remove a resistance current of Thai against Japanese. The objective is “real working for Thailand” and is for supporting Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan) which was established from “Asia Bungkadikan Alumni Association of Thailand”
To implement such objectives, there was a meting among Khun Sommai Soontrakool ; chairman of Founder Committee of Technology Promotion Association (Thailand – Japan), Khun Kiichiro Sato ; President of Japan – Thailand Economic Cooperation Society and all other related parties. Both Thai and Japanese sides had an agreed opinions as follows:
1. Both agreed that the independence of Technology Promotion Association (Thailand – Japan) operation is the important point and must be emphatically done in order to create “real working for Thailand”
2. Japanese side admitted to construct Technology Promotion Association (Thailand – Japan) office building in Thailand
3. Japanese side also admitted to establish Technology Teaching School in Thailand in the future
4. Any cooperation between the Association and Japan has to be done only through the Japan – Thailand Economic Cooperation Society.
5. To facilitate the Association independence, Japanese side will help to set up a financial inflow foundation for the Association so that Association will be really independent in the future rather than receiving the support from Japan.
The Association was established under these aforementioned agreements. As a result, Japanese who works in this Association must not forget to recognize that “Does our actions obstruct the independence of the Association operation?”, “Does our action reflect any procurement for Japanese benefit instead of creation a prosperity to Thailand as we promised?”. These all must not be forgotten.
The close human relationship between Thailand and Japan is a foundation of the Association. The progressive of the work depends on how we can keep the promises and promote prosperity and liberty to Thailand
